(ANAHEIM, CA – May 14, 2015) Intense Lighting, a solutions-based innovator and manufacturer of award-winning LED specification grade luminaire announces its high lumen GRAVITY Cylinder (99 lm/w) has been recognized as “Outstanding” in the category of “Efficacy” in the Seventh Annual Next Generation Luminaires™ (NGL) Solid-State Lighting Design Competition presented during LIGHTFAIR International.
Unlike past NGL competitions, the panel did not designate “Best in Class”. Instead, they identified those luminaires considered “Outstanding” according to one or more key criteria, regardless of the product category. This produced a slightly larger, and perhaps even more useful, group of winners at the highest level.
As LED technology and product design have evolved, NGL requirements have kept pace, becoming more demanding with each passing year. “It’s not an easy feat to achieve NGL recognition, “ says DOE Solid-State Lighting Program Manager Jim Broderick. “The judges are a tough-minded bunch who look for every flaw imaginable and don’t issue their stamp of approval lightly.” “It is an honor to be recognized by the NGL panel of judges once again this year,” says Del Moses LC, Product Manager Indoor of Intense Lighting. “The Cylinder from our award-winning GRAVITY line truly represents the progression of Intense engineering. To gain such valued recognition is both humbling and rewarding.”
Industry-leading in efficacies and performance, the new GRAVITY Cylinder delivers up to 99 lumens per watt, boasting energy savings, reducing maintenance costs and long-term costs of ownership. With lumen packages ranging from 1000 to 7000 lumens in 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, and 4000K CCTs, color consistency is ensured through 2-step MacAdam binning. GRAVITY Cylinders boast dimming capabilities and control options, including flicker-free dim to dark 0.1%, Dali and DMX 512 RDM. Equipped with engineered precision optics, the GRAVITY Cylinder distributes dramatic and controlled beams in areas with ceiling heights ranging from 12’ to 100’. Featuring field changeable optics, drivers, reflectors, LED light engine, and thermal management are all serviceable from below ceiling line. The GRAVITY Cylinder is available in pendant, cable, surface and wall mounting styles in 6” or 8” trim apertures.
The 2015 Indoor NGL focused on controllability and serviceability with products evaluated at the facilities of Intelligent Lighting Creations outside Chicago, IL. By encouraging new designs and technologies, the NGL competition aims to increase market acceptance and awareness of LEDs for general-illumination lighting.
